A purple that ages well

Bright purples tend to look cheap in strong sun because the pigment is doing too much. Pulling the saturation down and adding gray gives a color that holds up outdoors and does not fight with wood, canvas or denim. Under shade it drifts toward gray, in the sun it lifts toward violet.
