The Burnt Red Lower Deckie takes the twist off pouch base and puts it under a warm clay colored body. It is the most decorative of the five finishes this model comes in, and it is the one that looks least like equipment when it is sitting on a kitchen counter.

A gadget that does not look like one

Products with a hidden compartment usually announce themselves with black plastic and a logo. This one does the opposite. The seam between the cooler and the tin reads as a design line, and in a warm red finish the whole thing looks like a two tone tumbler rather than a container with a secret. That is the main reason to pay for color here.

Boat and dock duty

A tin in a pocket on a boat gets wet, and wet pouches are ruined pouches. Keeping them in a sealed metal base that is already in a cup holder solves that. Burnt Red is dark enough to hide the marks a fiberglass deck leaves on things and bright enough to find when you set it down behind a seat.

What the base costs you

Honest trade off: the added tier makes this taller than the plain can cooler, so a shallow molded cup holder will hold it less securely than the standard model. In a chair, a cooler lid or a truck console it is a non issue. In a compact car with tight holders, measure first.
