The 6 oz flask is the pocket size: a clear shatterproof Tritan body wrapped in silicone bumpers, 3.8 by 1 by 4.3 inches, with no metal in it anywhere. Black bumpers are the version that reads as least decorative and most like a piece of equipment.

Clear body, visible contents

A metal flask hides what is in it and how much is left, which is why people shake them. A transparent Tritan body shows the level at a glance and shows that the flask was cleaned properly after the last use. It also makes it obvious when something has been in there too long, which is the failure mode of every steel flask in a glovebox.

What the bumpers are doing

The silicone is not trim. It sits on the corners and edges, the places a dropped flask lands, and absorbs the impact that would otherwise reach the plastic. It also gives the body grip when hands are cold or wet, which is the situation this thing is usually used in. Black hides the scuffs the bumpers collect first.

Six ounces is a deliberate size

This holds roughly four standard pours, which is the right amount for one person over an evening and small enough to sit flat in a jacket pocket without printing through. If you are pouring for two, the 8 oz version of the same design is the better buy; if it needs to disappear, this one is.
